language training

Welcome and congratulations. You will soon be starting our training courses, and we are really looking forward to it.

Your great adventure is about to begin, and we get to help you with it. We are incredibly excited, and this information is intended to help you get started, especially in the beginning. Please read it carefully, and if you have any questions, you can WhatsApp or email us. Claudine is your first point of contact, and you can reach her at the email address: training@crosscarenamibia.com

You will start in a group of approximately 10 nurses from Namibia, and together you will study to eventually successfully complete the state exam at B1 level. Initially, you will do this at home and online. There is an online learning environment, and Hinke is your Dutch teacher. You will receive her contact details at the first online kick-off session.

Below, we will tell you more about:

  • Introduction of Hinke
  • Your learning environment and how to get started
  • Planning
  • Tips on how best to prepare and study

About Hinke

“I am Hinke Wijngaard, mother of 2 now-adult children. I am trained in education and healthcare. My teaching style is self-directed. In my lessons, students take the lead, which increases their motivation to learn”.

Hinke teaches the online lessons and will also come to Namibia twice a year, where she meets everyone personally. As soon as you are ready to move to the Netherlands, Hinke will also provide support with the Dutch language in the beginning (if necessary).

Your learning environment and how to get started

Before you start…

Make sure you have a PC, laptop, or tablet that you can work with. One that also has a camera and mic. for the online lessons. This is because the Dutch teacher also uses the screen sharing function.

You cannot take this course only on your mobile phone!

We schedule all online lessons via Google Meet. Please ensure that this is also possible for you. Test it first if necessary, and the Google browser (Chrome) is recommended but not necessary.

Your learning environment and how to get started

Please download these two documents before you start!

Step 1: Login for the first time

Always first download the documents and this is a short summery:

Go to this website: NT2 School

Login using the same email address we already have on file for you. Your password is sent to you.

Step 2: Select your course material

That’s already done for you and if everything went well, you will see your first digital textbook appear on the left. At the bottom, you will see that you have been added to a class and that your teacher is Hinke Wijngaard.

You can now start by clicking on: Open

Step 3: Start the first lesson

As soon as you have clicked on Open, you will see an overview. Your teacher will explain all of this thoroughly.

Click on 1

Here you will find more information. You can download the manual, download the listening texts for the 42 lessons, and download a vocabulary list.

Click on 2  and click on read online

Here you can read the digital book, but it is in Dutch. You need this for the online lessons, and your teacher will explain it further.

Click on Start

If you click on Start, you will go to all the lessons.

For example, if you click on Lesson 1, you will see the following:

Read the explanation carefully. You can click on a listening button, and if you click on a word in the exercises, you will see the translation. Your teacher will explain everything.

As soon as you understand it a little bit, you can also do exercises. Click on Practice here, and then you will see various sentences where you can fill in the words you need to practice. If you get it right, the word turns green. If it is wrong, it turns red.

It is very important that you pay close attention during the teacher’s first lessons to how you can learn, practice, and test yourself.

Good luck!
