Carevisie

Carevisie is one of the key clients in the Netherlands with whom we collaborate.

CareVisie facilitates and provides advice on the secondment and recruitment of foreign nurses and physicians for the Dutch healthcare sector.

This involves medical personnel who are proficient in the Dutch language and meet all quality and administrative requirements.

In doing so, they aim to contribute to resolving the growing staff shortages in Dutch healthcare.

The foreign healthcare professionals they work with find their time in the Netherlands to be a pleasant and welcome addition to their existing experience and knowledge. This is largely because they receive comprehensive support from start to finish and because their stay is embedded in a valuable professional network.

CareVisie put the healthcare professional first; they are committed to providing the best possible housing and employment benefits to the people helping the Netherlands tackle its staffing shortages.

CareVisie also offer our professionals opportunities for further specialization. Thanks to their backgrounds, combined with their guidance and preparation, the experienced professionals supported by CareVisie are able to integrate seamlessly and function as fully-fledged members of staff within Dutch healthcare institutions from day one.

The proces

The process of eventually living and working in the Netherlands requires careful preparation. As this raises many questions, we have outlined the necessary steps for you below.

Information Memo

From your country to the Netherlands as a Verzorgende IG!

This memo provides a high-level overview of the steps a nurse must complete in order to work in the Netherlands as
a Verzorgende IG (VIG).

The pathway consists of three main phases: i) recognition of professional competence, ii)
matching with a healthcare institution, and iii) arranging the permits for residence and work, as well as relocation to
the Netherlands.

2. Explanation by phase

Phase 1 – Declaration of Professional Competence

The process starts with collecting and checking the required documents. The candidate submits, among other things, an up-to-date CV, a certified copy of the diploma and a copy of the passport. The application form for the Declaration of Professional Competence for Verzorgende IG is then completed and the application is submitted.

Following assessment, the decision on the application is received. Please note: certification means that the copy of the document bears an original stamp and signature from the organisation that issued the document. The originally certified documents and the application forms are submitted to our contact person in your country.

Phase 2 – Matching and job application

Following the relevant assessment, the candidate’s CV is presented to Dutch healthcare institutions. If a healthcare institution is interested, an online job interview takes place with, among others, HR and the Care Manager. If the outcome is positive, the candidate is hired and the residence and employment process can begin.

Phase 3 – IND, visa, accommodation and departure

After being hired, the required residence and work permit is applied for with the IND. Following a positive decision, the candidate can collect the required visa or MVV from the Dutch representation in Suriname. In parallel, the organisation searches for suitable accommodation in the Netherlands. Once the required approvals and accommodation have been arranged, departure for the Netherlands can be planned.

3. Key decision points

  • Positive decision by CIBG on the application for the Declaration of Professional Competence. This takes
approximately 6 to 8 weeks from the date the application is submitted.
  • Successful match and a positive outcome of the job interview. We cannot indicate how long this will take, as
demand from healthcare institutions varies considerably and may arise on an ad hoc basis.
  • Positive decision by the IND on the application for residence and employment. By law, the IND has three
months to decide on an application.
  • Suitable accommodation must be available before departure for the Netherlands. Given the housing
shortage in the Netherlands, finding accommodation may also take a considerable amount of time.
